Hi, I’m Nadiya and this is why I’m passionate about sharing Yoga and Mindfulness with you…

If you feel as though stress is taking over your life and you often feel overwhelmed and worn out, with a body full of aches and pains, then I can understand how you might be feeling.

In my late twenties, a series of life events caused a buildup of emotional and physical stress and left me feeling anxious and depressed. I struggled with daily anxiety, panic attacks, physical pain, and fatigue. I always had pain in my body; it was screaming at me. I had chronic low back and intense shoulder pain, mouth ulcers, nose bleeds, and brain fog, and I just felt emotionally, physically, and mentally burnt out.

I tried everything I knew in order to combat these feelings: I changed my diet, went to a chiropractor, saw a kinesiologist, had cortisone injections for my shoulder, and had x-rays for my back and chest. Nothing seemed to ease the symptoms or explain the pain, so I began looking more closely at what the underlying issue of all of this could be, and I started to unpick it.

Yoga had been a part of my life for many years, and so when I was feeling burnt out and disconnected, Restorative yoga gave me space and support to reconnect. It helped me to heal and release all the built-up stress, tension, and trauma. Mindfulness also helped me to recognise the patterns in my life that weren’t helping, and with a combination of both of these practices, I restored my being.

These practices have become an integral part of my life, enriching it in so many ways and energising, relaxing, and nourishing my mind, body, and spirit. I love it so much that in 2012, I started to share these holistic practices in order to show others how they can use them to help manage their own stress in order to stop it from consuming their lives and causing unnecessary suffering. Yoga is much more than balance, strength, and flexibility; it’s about:

  • learning how to reconnect to your body and be kinder to yourself
  • living harmoniously with your environment
  • accepting and honouring your body
  • building resilience through a regulated nervous system
  • reducing suffering by getting to know yourself
  • being present in your daily life
  • upholding your boundaries
  • having fun along the way!

I particularly love sharing Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra as these practices continue to nourish and reconnect me.

If you’d like to know more about reconnecting with a healthier, happier, and more confident you, please get in touch.
